Key Responsibilities
- Drive VAVE initiatives by conducting in-depth cost analysis and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
- Perform detailed cost breakdowns of components and assemblies to uncover cost-saving potential.
- Support global supplier negotiations with fact based costing insights highlighting cost drivers and realistic target pricing.
- Recommend design changes alternative materials and process improvements for cost reduction.
- Conduct product teardowns and benchmarking studies to evaluate industry best practices and pricing trends.
- Collaborate with engineering procurement and suppliers to validate cost structures and suggest improvements.
- Develop and maintain cost models and databases using tools like Excel and TC PCM.
- Analyze cost trends and generate actionable insights through data visualization and reporting.
- Maintain and update the VAVE savings funnel ensuring a continuous pipeline of cost-reduction opportunities.
- Prepare impactful presentations and reports for key stakeholders.
- Ensure awareness and adherence to ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards Qualifications and Experience.
The role is based in our office in SP Infocity Hadapsar Pune but it goes without saying that the remote & hybrid working is a part of our modern ways of working.
Qualifications & Experience required to succeed in this role
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a reputed institution.
- Professional Experience: 78 years of hands-on experience in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) and Should Costing preferably in a global manufacturing or engineering environment.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Deep expertise in VAVE methodology including product teardowns function cost analysis and benchmarking.
- Strong background in cost estimation Should Costing and cost optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in tools like TC PCM Power BI and Advanced Excel.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess supplier cost structures and identify inefficiencies.
- Experience in market research supplier benchmarking and industry cost comparisons.
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a reputed institution.
