Senior Frontend Engineer Onboarding

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with focus on Frontend to join our Business Onboarding team.

The business onboarding team is dedicated to guide business through setting up Wise and resolving their first international money needs in a way thats clear easy and delightful. Software engineers data analysts and designers collaborate on a daily basis to continuously improve our onboarding flows and processes.

Our team builds systems that onboard more than 1.3 million users a month - and as one of the senior engineers in the team youll play a fundamental role in  shaping their experience with Wise.

We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer with strong web expertise who can work closely with product design and analytics to shape and build Wises onboarding experience.

 

As a Senior Frontend Engineer you will:

• Collaborate closely with product design analytics and other teams across the company to deliver impactful experiences to Wises customers - as a cross functional team

• Be responsible for the overall health and quality of the frontend services that power Wise onboarding experience 

• Work closely with your team to plan scope and build consistent experience across Wises web and native applications

• Work closely with your lead to own the availability and scalability of our onboarding product flows and architecture and help shape your teams technical roadmap

• Have the opportunity to guide and mentor your junior peers through their technical and professional growth  

• Have an impact across the broader Wise product and across Wise engineering as a whole 

• Work closely with other teams to drive cross team technical initiatives to scale  and grow the technical landscape that powers Wises onboarding experience
  
   

  What do you need

  We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!

• Experience building and designing scalable and performant systems that handle large amounts of traffic - ideally using React based frontend applications Javascript / Typescript

• Experience with modern frontend testing practices like end to end testing and visual regression testing and frameworks like jest chromatic cypress or similar

• Experience with Continuous Integration and package management tooling like pnpm Artifactory Github Actions and others.
  
  
  It would a bonus if you also have:

• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like SSR and Turborepo/monorepos

• Exposure to analytics and experimentation tooling such as Mixpanel Hotjar ABTasty Optimisely or similar

• Exposure to backend languages or technologies such as  Java Spring Boot microservices architectures or micro-frontends

•  

• Experience working closely with and collaborating actively with backend engineers to drive architecture and API design

• A strong product mindset and passion for UX you prioritise work with customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points

• Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Additional Information :

What the first six months in this role will look like:

• Youll have onboarded and found your place through understanding your team squad and guild vision and how you can contribute

• Understanding the Wise product fintech space and our tech culture

• Youll have fully developed new features from planning to release and keep monitoring their adoption once live 

• Join the teams quarterly plannings and proposed ideas to take your product further
