Job Summary

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director Rooms Operations responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Address guest concerns and react quickly; logging and notifying proper departments as required
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed
  • Maintain all guest rooms public areas and heart of the house areas; ensuring that the highest standard of cleanliness is met
  • Monitor labor costs while ensuring effective scheduling and department productivity
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs while working with the Chief Engineer
  • Manage the departmental budget in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Ensure inventory and ordering of linen guest supplies and cleaning products are managed effectively
  • Ensure effective communication including coaching and performance management
  • Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program (i.e. floor care hard cleaning mattress flipping etc.) and maintain a detailed checklist for each position. 
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS HazComm etc.). 
  • Prepare and conduct Housekeeping interviews as required and follow hiring procedures 
  • Balance and clear room status daily. 
  • Assist in preparing employee Schedules according to business forecast payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements 
  • Monitor all V.I.P.s special guests and requests. 
  • Ensure completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects on a biannual basis. 
  • Collaborate on FF&E OS&E other large format complex capital projects 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Salary Range: $100000 to $115000 USD Gross per Annual

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

  • Rooms division leadership 3yrs (including but not limited to front office management) 
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Previous leadership experience required

 Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 

  • Seated computer work including constant keyboarding and mousing
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Occasional lifting up to 25lbs
