Position Summary

The Director of Admission Student and Workforce Success provides strategic leadership for the complete student journey from inquiry through alumni engagement. As a senior leader reporting to the Senior Director of AI Technologies and Strategic Operations this role ensures seamless transitions for adult learners through critical academic milestones while supervising frontline staff and establishing operational excellence across admissions student success and graduation functions.

Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership and Operations (35%)

  • Direct operations across admissions academic success and graduation functions
  • Supervise Admissions Counselors Admissions Experience Strategist and Student Experience Strategists
  • Provide final approval for undergraduate and graduate admission applications
  • Develop strategic inquiry admission and academic success plans aligned with enrollment goals
  • Establish admission processes in collaboration with university and PSC leadership
  • Monitor application and yield metrics implementing improvements to meet enrollment targets
  • Oversee implementation of AI-powered tools and predictive analytics across admissions and student success functions to optimize enrollment outcomes

Graduation & Alumni Engagement Leadership (25%)

  • Lead graduate verification and alumni engagement operations
  • Oversee graduation verification processes and degree clearance procedures
  • Serve as final authority on degree requirement completion and graduation eligibility
  • Collaborate with Registrars Office on graduation processing and records management
  • Guide initiatives to celebrate student completion and academic achievement
  • Develop strategies to promote ongoing educational relationships with alumni

People Operations (20%)

  • Maintain complete and accurate employment records for all faculty and staff which includes but is not limited to offers promotions reappointments administrative appointments and separations.
  • Liaise with HR Partner on personnel matters to ensure the College is operating within university policy and employment laws.
  • Coordinate with HR Partner regarding workforce planning performance management and people development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)

  • Coordinate with Director of Enrollment Management on student transitions
  • Partner with academic departments on program-specific recruitment and graduation requirements
  • Represent admission registration and graduation concerns in curriculum discussions
  • Maintain effective partnerships with university service departments
  • Data Analysis & Reporting (10%)
  • Collaborate with Data Insights and Operations Team on inquiries admissions and graduation metrics leveraging AI analytics and predictive modeling for strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate effectiveness of admission and student success strategies
  • Provide data-informed recommendations to PSC leadership
  • Co-manage annual U.S. News and World Report submission
  • Analyze rankings data to inform strategic planning and marketing initiatives

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency with CRM systems (Slate Salesforce) and student information systems (Banner)
  • Familiarity with AI-powered analytics predictive modeling and emerging educational technologies
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities
  • Experience with data analysis reporting and student success metrics
  • Familiarity with enrollment management technologies and best practices
  • Experience with AI applications in higher education or willingness to develop expertise in educational technology trends

Leadership & Communication Skills

  • Proven track record in student success program development and implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse teams and manage complex student success initiatives
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience with strategic planning and operational leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in higher education or relevant experience with progressive responsibility
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in admissions recruitment or related areas
  • Masters degree in higher education administration business organizational leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in admissions recruitment or related areas
  • Professional certifications in project management operations or related areas

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 13.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $90000-$105000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
