POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Upper School Coaches

  • Varsity Swimming (Head Coach):
    • November 3 2025 through February 21 2026.
    • Practices are Monday through Friday 7:30-8:30 AM as well as after 3:00 PM.
  • Varsity Indoor Track (Jumps/Throws/Distance):
    • November 3 2025 through February 27 2026.
    • Practices are Monday through Friday 3:30PM - 7:00PM

Middle School Coaches

  • November 8 2025 through February 26 2026
  • Practices are 3-4 days per week 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
    • 5/6 Swimming (Co-Head)
    • 5/6 Basketball (Co-Head)
    • 5/6 Running (Co-Head)
    • 7/8 Swimming (Co-Head)
    • 7/8 Basketball (Co-Head)
    • 7/8 Running (Co-Head)

SUMMARY:

The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks dynamic enthusiastic and student-centered coaches to join our Athletics program for the Winter season. Positions are available in Varsity Swim Varsity Indoor Track Middle School Swimming Middle School Basketball Middle School Running Middle School Swimming. These roles play an important part in supporting the physical social and emotional development of our student-athletes while helping to foster a culture of sportsmanship teamwork and school spirit.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Plan and lead safe engaging and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Support the head coach (for assistant roles) in implementing team strategy managing games and mentoring athletes.
  • Create a positive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes growth effort and learning.
  • Supervise students during all team-related activities including travel to games.
  • Communicate with students and families in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Athletics Department and attend required coaches meetings and professional development.
  • Uphold school values and model respectful sportsmanlike behavior on and off the field/court.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior playing and coaching experience in the relevant sport preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for working with middle and/or upper school students.
  • Strong communication organization and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team culture.
  • Availability for practices and games during the after-school hours (approximately 2:307:00 p.m.) and occasional weekend competitions.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.

STIPEND:

  • Seasonal stipends range from $3500 - $4000 for Middle School and $5000 - $6500 for Upper School coaches.
