We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant Construction to support our team at Tarkett Sports ConstructionNorthwest a leading expert in construction management services for projects of all sizes. They provide expertise in excavation grading and utility installation while offering a superior customer experience at every stage of the project. Reporting to the President of Benchmark Contracting the Senior Accountant Construction oversees financial reporting budgeting compliance and insurance programs to support accurate construction project accounting and strategic decision-making while working on-site at the West Linn Oregon office.

What youll do:

• Financial Management & Reporting
  • Lead all accounting and financial operations including AP/AR payroll job costing tax compliance banking and cash flow.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements WIP schedules journal entries and reconciliations in compliance with GAAP and Tarkett requirements.
  • Deliver monthly reporting packages with clear variance analysis and forecasting insights.
• Budgeting Forecasting & Strategic Support
  • Manage annual budgets forecasts and financial reviews providing data-driven recommendations to support business and project decisions.
• Project Accounting & Subcontractor Administration
  • Prepare and submit payment applications lien waivers and AR invoices.
  • Process subcontracts maintain subcontractor budgets manage change orders and ensure timely subcontractor payments.
• Compliance Controls & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations labor/tax laws and internal controls; support internal and external audits.
  • Manage OCIP/CCIP enrollment and prepare required insurance reporting including monthly workers compensation and general liability reports.
  • Maintain state registrations and business licenses across jurisdictions.
• Employee Data & Benefits Administration
  • Oversee employee master data benefits programs and payroll setup to ensure accurate and compliant administration.

What you need for success:

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting (CPA preferred).
  • Valid Public Notary commission.
• Experience:
  • 5 years of financial management
  • Accounting construction (must)
  • Project accounting (must)
  • Supervisor or Team-lead.
• Technical proficiencies:
  • Financial software (e.g. QuickBooks Excel).
  • Construction management Software (e.g. Procore)
  • Construction specific accounting operating software (e.g. Foundation Software)
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and Internal Controls
• Strong leadership analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Resourceful detail-oriented problem-solver proactive driven and dynamic.
