The Leading Hand is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a team of workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently safely and to a high standard. This role acts as a bridge between the workforce and management providing hands-on leadership and support in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of workers on-site and be on call as required

• Allocate tasks and monitor progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Provide training guidance and support to team members.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors project managers and other stakeholders.

• Assist with planning and scheduling of work activities.

• Perform hands-on duties as required including operating machinery or tools.

• Report any issues delays or incidents to management promptly.

Skills and Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (Level 4 Civil Certificate)

• Proven experience in a similar role or industry(construction)

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret plans drawings or specifications.

• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
