Job Summary

Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Specialty: Behavioral Health Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Site: Gallup New Mexico (Gallup Indian Medical Center Navajo Area IHS)

Location: 516 E Nizhoni Blvd Gallup NM 87301
Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of 4 years of extension
Start Date: Jan 2026
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday through Friday; alternate or extended shifts may be required based on clinical or crisis coverage needs.

How many shifts are needed per month: Determined by facility schedule and patient volume.

License: Any active unrestricted U.S. state or territory license permitting independent social work practice.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience needed: Minimum of 24 months post-licensure experience as an LCSW including completion of supervised clinical hours.

Special Skills needed:

Crisis assessment and intervention skills.
Experience in outpatient counseling emergency/crisis response and care coordination.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences.
Knowledge of Indian Health Service (IHS) standards HIPAA and IT security requirements.

Credentialing / Onboarding time: Estimated 6 8 weeks.

Responsibilities:

Provide behavioral health services including assessment diagnosis treatment and follow-up care for patients across outpatient and emergency settings.
Conduct psychosocial evaluations and formulate treatment plans.
Provide individual group and family counseling using evidence-based techniques.
Deliver emergency/crisis care and coordinate referrals to higher levels of care when necessary.
Maintain thorough timely and accurate documentation in accordance with IHS TJC and CMS standards.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings peer reviews and quality improvement activities.
