- This position is focused on environmental sample collection and laboratory support rather than analytical testing. The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting environmental monitoring in controlled process areas to ensure compliance with cleanroom standards.
- Collecting samples from high-purity water systems clean steam and compressed gases for routine monitoring.
- Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies media and reagents to support ongoing operations.
- Performing general lab support tasks including cleaning controlled temperature units operating the autoclave and assisting with basic upkeep.
- Participating in overtime weekend holiday and on-call schedules as needed to support continuous operations.
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and calibration coordination to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Supporting the training of new team members in sample collection and lab procedures.
- Utilizing the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for tracking samples and associated data.
- May occasionally assist with acceptance testing of commercially prepared microbiological culture media though this is not a primary function.
Following Clean Room Restrictions:
- No cosmetic products (such as makeup false lashes etc) are permitted and must be removed prior to entry
- Nails must be kept short trimmed and unadorned (no nail polish adornments etc)
- No jewelry may be worn (exceptions are medical alert related and one smooth ring band)
- Hair must be able to be neatly tied back and contained in a hairnet and all facial hair must be neatly trimmed and able to be secured in a beard cover.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to meet the physical demands of the role including:
- Routinely lifting items weighing 25 lbs or more
- Walking and standing for extended periods
- Pushing/pulling carts and equipment
- Bending and reaching for supplies as needed
- Associates Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent relevant experience
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments preferred
- Environmental Monitoring experience is a plus
- Familiarity with microbial identification procedures
- Understanding of cGMP regulations is beneficial
- Proficiency in computer systems strong organizational skills and scientific aptitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a high level of self-motivation adaptability and a positive attitude
- Capable of learning new techniques managing multiple tasks maintaining accurate records and following instructions and company policies
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

This is a full-time onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Sunday through Wednesday 8:00am to 5:30pm) with overtime required as needed. Training is Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Rensselaer New York are strongly encouraged to apply.
