Position Highlights
- Full-time night shift 12-hour shifts (paid for 40 hours)
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- No call requirement
- Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) required
- 2 years of Critical Care ICU experience as an RN NP or PA required
- Cardiology and Heart Failure population experience preferred
- Training provided on mechanical support devices
Patient Population Includes
- Heart Failure
- Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS)
- VV/VA ECMO
- LVAD
- Heart and Lung Transplant
- Post-Operative Cardiac Surgery
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care including assessment diagnosis treatment and management of patients with complex cardiac conditions
- Deliver evidence-based clinical decisions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team
- Manage patient care throughout the disease process in alignment with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital Standards of Care
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas RN and APRN licensure
- Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certification
- National certification from ANCC NCC AANP or AACN
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum two (2) years of critical care nursing experience (RN or NP) in Cardiology Cardiac Care or Cardiovascular Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Heart Failure or Cardiovascular ICU patients
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner experience
- Background in managing advanced cardiac support devices
