Responsibilities:

Business Development and Client Engagement:

  • Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities in the sustainability and environmental services market including renewable energy energy efficiency waste management green building and carbon reduction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients such as corporations government agencies and non-profit organizations to understand their sustainability challenges and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the sales marketing and technical teams to create targeted proposals and presentations that showcase the companys sustainability-focused products services and expertise.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure new business deals that are financially viable and aligned with the companys sustainability goals.

Market and Competitive Analysis:

  • Monitor industry trends regulations and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and develop strategies to maintain a competitive advantage in the sustainability market.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform the development of innovative sustainability-focused solutions that address client needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest sustainability-related technologies best practices and industry developments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Provide input and support to the product development and service delivery teams to ensure that the companys sustainability-related offerings remain relevant competitive and impactful.
  • Collaborate with teams in areas like marketing operations and project management to ensure seamless delivery of sustainability-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to the companys overall sustainability initiatives and thought leadership efforts such as by authoring blog posts white papers or case studies.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets for the sustainability business line.
  • Leverage customer relationship management (CRM) software and other business development tools to track and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize sales processes and tactics to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business sustainability environmental science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of successful business development experience in the sustainability or environmental services sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sustainability-related technologies regulations trends and best practices.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
  • Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software data analytics tools and other business development technologies.
  • Passion for sustainability and a proven track record of driving positive environmental and social impact through commercial initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and adapt to a dynamic fast-paced business landscape.
