Job Summary

St Gemmas Hospice is seeking a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)who is passionate about delivering holistic care and supporting patients in a community is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and have the opportunity to supportcurrent service developments.

You will need:

  • Significant experience at Band 5 working in specialist palliative care or caring for palliative care patients in a community or hospital setting
  • Experience and knowledge of symptom management
  • Ability to communicate effectively in complex clinical situations and with colleagues
  • Desire to be part of a flexible and ambitious multi-disciplinary team
  • A driving licence and access to a car for work related purposes

St Gemmas is an innovative and pioneering Hospice providing services recently rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. We play a key role in influencing the future of palliative care in Leeds through the citywide Leeds Palliative Care Network. We are a leader in palliative care research education and evidence into practice and are the first University Teaching Hospice. We provide both in-patient and community specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

This is a full-time post however 30 - 37.5hrs worked over 4 days will be considered.

St Gemmas Hospice is an independent Leeds-based charity and one of the leading hospices in the UK providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients families and carers in the Hospices In-Patient Unit through the St Gemmas community team and at our Out-Patients.

We have around 300 employees working across the main Hospice site in Moortown Retail Hub in Bramley a large chain of charity shops and out in the community.
