Position Type: Casual to April 2026

Location: Fredericton

Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour based on experience and level of post-secondary education.

What youll do

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources for the in-person delivery of the Electric Vehicle: Automotive Service Technician microcredential; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students colleagues community partners and stakeholders as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses may include but may not be limited to:

  • Electrical System Review
  • Introduction to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems
  • High Voltage Batteries
  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Support Systems

What youll need

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A valid Automotive Service Technician Red Seal license with related years of work experience.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related work experience at the Journeypersons level including the ability to inspect diagnose maintain and service current model vehicles in the automotive service industry.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills analytical ability and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional training in any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Service
  • High-voltage electrical systems: Inverters converters battery packs and electric motors
  • Charging station operation
  • Manufacturer-specific EV Certifications
  • Battery management systems: Diagnostics lifecycle management and thermal regulation

Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response the minimum qualifications may be raised.
