Job Summary

Title: Sterile Processing Technician in Cheyenne WY (any state license is ok)
Place of Work: Cheyenne VA Medical Center
Location: 2360 East Pershing Blvd Cheyenne WY 82001
Start Date: 1- 2 months
Shift Hours: 8-hour shifts Monday Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM. No on-call or weekend work expected. Federal holidays observed per VA schedule.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1 2 years of recent sterile processing experience in a hospital or VA facility setting.
Certifications:

Required: HSPA (CRCST) or CBSPD certification
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Special Skills needed:

Skilled in decontamination assembly packaging sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and devices
Knowledge of sterilizers (e.g. Sterrad V-Pro) ultrasonic washers and scope processors
Familiar with instrument tracking systems (e.g. CensiTrac) and documentation
Compliant with AAMI AORN HSPA CDC and OSHA standards

Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 8 weeks.

Responsibilities: Perform decontamination inspection assembly and packaging of surgical instruments; operate sterilization and disinfection systems monitor indicators and maintain sterilization records; prepare case carts maintain par levels and ensure readiness for clinical use; comply with infection control and safety standards.
