Whats The Job
The Blending Operator Lead is responsible for overseeing the blending operation training new and existing operators and ensuring the safe efficient and high-quality production of food products. This role combines hands-on operation of blending equipment with leadership responsibilities including training mentoring and supporting operators. The Lead ensures that blending processes adhere to safety guidelines GMPs and food defense procedures while continuously seeking opportunities to improve performance quality and consistency.
This is a full-time onsite role in our Ohio blending facility covering 1st shift starting at 6am.
What Youll Be Doing Stop Scanning and Read This Part
  • Oversee and lead the daily activities of blending operators to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new and existing operators on safety procedures equipment operation and blending processes.
  • Set up operate and clean blending equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Select and weigh ingredients according to formulas using scoops spoons or automatic feeders.
  • Operate blenders mixers agitators and other machinery to blend ingredients according to specific formulas.
  • Start machinery monitor operations and shut down equipment when processing is complete.
  • Transfer finished products from blenders into barrels or containers.
  • Clean and maintain work areas machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure batch record integrity and maintain accurate digital inputs in compliance with company protocols.
  • Lead daily shift coordination ensuring sufficient staffing and smooth operations.
  • Provide leadership and support to the team addressing issues and maintaining a positive productive environment.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize blending processes increase efficiency and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address food safety risks throughout production with other food safety team members.
  • Ensure and promote food safety throughout the facility and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Cover supervisor vacations on both 1st and 2nd shifts ensuring consistent leadership in their absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Youve Done And Who You Are
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; previous blending experience is a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to train motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific work instructions.
  • Experience supporting a culture built on collaboration sharing ideas and celebrating success.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient with Windows and basic software systems.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to swing between shifts as needed.
  • Basic understanding of math (kilograms grams pounds).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Warehouse and R&D teams.
  • Someone that can partner and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast-moving environment.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work near food ingredients with possible exposure to food allergens.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Location: inside an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards.
