Morgan Stanleys Institutional Equity Sales and Trading Division (IED) is a world leader in the origination distribution and trading of equity equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Division services a global Institutional client base providing clients with innovative product solutions that help to generate alpha within their portfolios.
Full-Time Program
Realize your full potential at Morgan Stanley through our campus programs. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our High Touch Sales Trading desk in Tokyo. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing sales trading coverage to international institutional clients with a primary focus on Japanese equities. This role requires a strong interest in financial markets excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality execution services in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive sales trading coverage to international institutional clients with a focus on Japanese equities.
- Execute client orders with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of client service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering timely market insights execution strategies and trading ideas.
- Collaborate closely with internal research sales and trading teams to ensure seamless client coverage.
- Monitor market developments assess potential impacts on client portfolios and provide informed updates.
- Assist in risk management trade reporting and compliance with all regulatory and internal policies.
- Contribute to the growth of the franchise through proactive client engagement and business development initiatives.
Qualifications and skills
- Graduating with a Bachelors Masters or Doctorate degree between September 2025 and September 2026. (All majors are encouraged to apply.)
- Fluency in English is essential; business-level proficiency in Japanese is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and a strong desire to pursue a career in sales trading.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain trusted client relationships.
- High levels of energy resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective team player and collaborator able to partner closely with regional and global teams.
