The district is seeking a qualified and dedicated Home and Hospital Tutor to provide individualized academic instruction to a studentwho is temporarily unable to attend school due to medical or other approved circumstances. The tutor will work collaboratively with classroom teachers support staff and the family to ensure continuity of instruction and academic progress during the students absence.
Provide direct in-person instruction to the student for up to 10 hours per week following the schedule and plan approved by the district.
Deliver instruction in core academic subjects consistent with the students current curriculum and school assignments.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to obtain lesson plans assignments and assessment expectations.
Adapt instruction to meet the students individual learning needs health status and pacing.
Maintain accurate documentation of instructional time attendance and student progress.
Communicate regularly with the Winthrop House Director to review student progress
Ensure compliance with district state and federal regulations including confidentiality and student privacy (FERPA).
Support the students transition and reintegration into the school setting when appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring students at the middle school level.
Ability to work independently and manage instructional time effectively.
Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills.
Reliable transportation to the students home or hospital setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid state teaching license (middle or secondary level).
Experience providing home/hospital or individualized instruction.
Familiarity with district curriculum grading and reporting systems.
Instruction provided in a mutually agreed upon public location such as the library
If currently employed by PSB the candidate cannot provide tutoring services during regular school hours.
Must adhere to all district safety and health protocols.
Occasional travel within district boundaries may be required.
