The Operations Engineer Renewables reports to the Lead Sustaining Projects and Operations Engineering and is accountable for the successful delivery of continual improvement opportunities onsite required to safely reliably and compliantly operate ATCO EnPowers assets equipment and facilities and meet the needs of ATCO EnPowers customers. These continual improvement opportunities will have a technical component and include MOCs Facility Reporting Sustaining Capital Programs Improvement Initiatives and day-to-day troubleshooting.
They will achieve this by demonstrating situational leadership and through collaborating with other departments across ATCO EnPower including Technical Services Commercial Regulatory and Project Execution and will perform their responsibilities in alignment with ATCOs Core Values of Caring Integrity Collaboration Agility and Health & Safety.
Responsibility Area #1 Technical
Provide day-to-day technical expertise and troubleshooting on equipment at ATCO EnPower Operating Facilities under normal operation during maintenance activities and under upset conditions.
Identify and execute optimization and performance improvement opportunities.
Support with ISO (electrical) compliance program and submissions.
Champion the Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Reporting Operations KPIs and metrics reporting and provide recommendations to management.
Responsibility Area #2 Project Execution
Identify scope and support the Sustaining Capital Programs as per the Sustaining Capital Workflows.
Manage the Project/Opportunity Master List
Project Manage individual projects in accordance with ATCO EnPowers Project Execution Policies and Project Life Cycle including sustaining capital projects O&M projects turnarounds and outages as required
Performing and reviewing power system studies (e.g. load flow short circuit arc flash etc.).
Represent Operations on Major Project Development Projects and Sustaining Capital project teams.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
5-7 years experience in a similar role
designation through APEGA is required
