What you will do

As an Engineering Manager for the Backend-Patform swimlane you will lead and manage two teams: API Platform & Datalake. These engineering teams are responsible for building and maintaining some of the core data building blocks powering user experiences within MetaMask. Your primary focus will be on guiding your team(s) to deliver high-quality stable and performance services that enable client teams to drive engagement and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Manage up to two teams with 2-4 engineers on each providing technical guidance mentorship and support to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
• Drive delivery of key features ensuring release timelines are met and build quality is inline with Technical and Operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management client teams DevSecOps and SRE to develop and maintain highly performant and scalable services that align with MetaMasks overall strategy.
• Foster a culture of innovation experimentation and continuous learning within your team encouraging engineers to explore new technologies share knowledge and improve processes.
• Drive technical decision-making ensuring that your teams solutions are scalable maintainable and meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical landscape staying up-to-date with industry trends emerging technologies and competitor activity.
• Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration across the MetaMask ecosystem.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of your teams work using data to inform product decisions and drive growth.
• Communicate technical plans progress and results to stakeholders including product leaders designers and other engineering teams.

• Observability tooling (Prometheus Grafana)

• Experience developing APIs databases & backend services for consumer products
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
