Description:

RBT is a non-certified staff member who does not hold the position of teacher but assists the classroom teacher (s) and staff under the guidance of the BCBA with implementing the basic principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). RBT will be on the crisis team. The RBT will provide appropriate and consistent services to students helping to implement educational activities as well as offering emotional social and behavioral development.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technicianas issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Must hold (or obtain) and maintain Crisis Prevention Institute certification
  • Must hold (or obtain) subsitute teacher certification
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with children with behavior problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal daily guidance.
  • Successful experience working in a team setting.

Reports to: Principal and Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow protocols and District Policies and Procedure guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the student of social interaction with the RBT.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication social interaction and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with Functional Behavior Assessment Process
  • Assist with Functional Analyses
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Utilize ABA principles and evidence-based practices
  • Train classroom assistants and one-to-ones on data collection
  • Active member of the crisis team.
  • Assist in verbal de-escalation efforts when students display challenging behaviors
  • Assist teachers in monitoring of students academic work and behavioral performance
  • Contributes input during parent conferences and in IEP meetings.
  • Assists students during arrival and dismissal from school.
  • Attends all staff meetings in-services and training.
  • Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation of BCBA and Principal.
  • Educates all those involved about the role of ABA based interventions and functions within boundaries of the RBT role in providing treatment.
  • Maintains a professional attitude works cooperatively with district staff and parents; and treats all children and their families with dignity and respect.

  • Following the established MCSSETA Salary GuideStep 1 $55240.00
