Summary
The Store Sales Associates provide the highest level of customer service to guests of The Museum of Flight. This position performs all activities associated with the Museum store floor operation which includes cashiering stocking merchandise and ensuring store cleanliness. As a front line staff member the Store Sales Associate welcomes guests to the Museum experience assists customers with purchases and provides the public with a positive impression. The Store Sales Associate works in the main store as well as other exit stores event stores and pop-up stores on the Museum campus as needed.
EssentialDuties & Responsibilities
- Warm friendly and informative customer service while assisting visitors in person and on the phone.
- Ring in sales accurately heavy cash handling and credit card transactions and balancing register at the end of the day.
- Be able to help customers in the following areas: Store inventory system and merchandise the museum collection daily museum events museum membership levels education programs facility rental opportunities and customer involvement by becoming a museum member or contributor.
- Keep the work area clean orderly stocked and safe. Clean glass doors windows shelves and merchandise being aware of safety hazards and guidelines stock inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Retail Operations Manager or Leads.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 6 months of cashiering and/or customer service required 1 year preferred.
Knowledge
- Demonstrated experience using computers and handling cash.
Skills
- Displays courteous and friendly demeanor; demonstrated experience directing and assisting guests.
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
Abilities
- Proven superior attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population.
