Description
Abilities Network a multiple year winner of the Baltimore Suns Top Workplace award is looking for a hybrid part-time Bookkeeper to support the Finance Team working approximately 10 hours per week. This position offers a flexible schedule aligning with traditional business hours. The hourly rate of pay is $20.00 and is non-negotiable. This positions primary responsibilities include tracking grant-related income and expenses ensuring compliance with grantor requirements as well as assisting with fundraising functions including maintaining a donors list and preparing fundraising materials and correspondence. This position is also expected to support the overall operation of Abilities Network when needed. Certain tasks may be asked that do not fall into the essential functions of this job.

What will I do at Abilities Network
- Record day-to-day financial transactions using accounting software
- Process accounts payables and accounts receivables payments and invoices
- Support payroll function and related reporting
- Track grant expenditures and ensures alignment with approved budgets
- Maintain documentation for grant-related transactions
- Prepare financial reports for funders and assists with grant audits
- Monitor grant deadlines and reporting requirements
- Assist in preparing monthly quarterly invoices
- Support the development of budgets and forecasts
- Provides audit support and works on special projects as assigned
Requirements
What does Abilities Network need from me
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in accounting finance or related field preferred
- Prior bookkeeping experience; preferably non-profit or grant-funded environment
- Prior grant reporting and compliance experience
- Experience using MIP accounting software or similar software preferred
Competencies & Qualifications
- Understanding of non-profit accounting principles (i.e. fund accounting)
- Ability to manage multiple funding streams and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Comfortable with all types of technology i.e. proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
