Description
Position Summary
Ambulatory Analyst position ensures that the retail pharmacy prescription processing system and other applicable software is available implemented updated maintained and operational for all staff as appropriate within the organization. Has knowledge with a variety of standard concepts practices and procedures in the pharmacy field. Relies on pre-established guidelines past experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others. Supports pharmacy software applications based on user interaction and current system functionality. Solves pharmacy computer problems and displays multi-dimensional analytical skills. Customizes and maintains pharmacy software for optimizing operational efficiency working individually and as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as primary subject matter expert for Retail Pharmacy prescription processing software (Willow Ambulatory EPIC application) and a secondary subject matter expert for one or more applications including inventory (Willow Inventory). Develop implement and transition to new software modules and upgrades as needed as well as perform testing on new builds and applications during implementation and maintenance phases. Perform maintenance research and testing of systems including generating error reports maintaining tables and documenting all system changes and statuses in a complete and thorough manner in order to preserve data integrity. Develop and validate user and system requirements write technical and clinical workflow documents test plans and test results. Execute assess troubleshoot and create solutions supporting software platforms. Identify and document application defects and manage the process of escalating such defects to the appropriate external resources. Assist internal teams on an ongoing basis with escalations that require knowledge or expertise that are within ambulatory domain. Provide technical support diagnose application errors and troubleshooting for applications tickets and issues. Consulting with end users in addressing problems and assisting in formulating solutions. Assist with building maintaining and generating reports within the clinical software. Provide onsite or remote support for staff to train and promote the proper use of the electronic systems and best practices. Attend meetings and work with sites and departments to assist with process improvement integration and efficiency related to software functionality. Maintain software certification. Pharmacy Technician duties as needed. All other appropriate retail pharmacy duties as assigned. Perform duties on site or remotely as allowed by system. Ability to travel for training as dictated by the needs of the organization availability of training resources and conferences.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of North Dakota
- Experience may be substituted for degree.
- Willow Ambulatory EPIC Certification within the first 120 days
Experience Requirements
- 3 years retail pharmacy experience required.
- Has knowledge with a variety of concepts practices and procedures in the field.
Special Skills
- Knowledge in pharmacy and computer applications including implementation integration standardization and maintenance of systems.
- Knowledge of order management and automated dispensing machines preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and be able to communicate well with all levels within the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Adaptive to changing work environment.
