NewsNation is looking for a Line Producer to join the primetime program Banfield. The line producer plays a lead role in managing creation of the shows rundown and facilitates the production process from the daily pitch meeting to the execution of the live show in the control room collaborating with editorial and production staff throughout the day. Additionally the producer will produce news packages guest segments and interviews as needed. The position is based on-site at the networks offices in New York.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Works with the Executive Producer and Senior Producers to create the shows rundown and manage workflow for a team which includes segment producers writers and associate producers
Works with director and production crew on technical aspects of broadcast
Facilitates creation of in-show graphics and story titles
Write clear compelling and strong editorial copy in anchors voice
Research topics using the Internet video archives and other information sources
Select strongest possible elements to help best tell stories
Work with talent on daily taped pieces
Prepare or edit questions for guest segments
Assists in coordination of special reports from conception to air
Keep Executive Producer and Senior Broadcast Producer apprised of developments of stories
Perform other tasks as assigned by news management
Requirements & Skills:
Five to ten years of experience in national or major-market news
BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related field.
Strong writing and editorial skills required.
Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements
Must be self-directing self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people
Interact well with on-air talent news managers videographers production digital and engineering staff
Detail-oriented
Excellent verbal written grammar and analytical skills
Exhibit strong news judgment
Handle stress including short deadlines
Work at a computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during some holidays
Salary Range: $90000 - $115000
