About the role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with solid experience in Java (primary) and preferably Python to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing building and maintaining backend systems that power our web and mobile platforms. Knowledge of full-stack development is a plus and you will work closely with frontend DevOps and product teams to deliver end-to-end features and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reliable scalable and high-performance backend services and APIs.

• Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to deliver complete features.

• Implement modern architectural patterns such as microservices event-driven systems and asynchronous processing.

• Write clean well-documented and testable code.

• Optimize application performance identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.

• Contribute to the overall software architecture and recommend improvements.

• Maintain system quality through unit integration and automated testing.

• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root cause analysis.

• Support integration with third-party APIs and external systems.

• Stay up to date with backend trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of backend development experience in production environments.

• Proficient in Java with frameworks like Spring Boot or Micronaut.

• Practical experience with Python (for services automation or tooling).

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL Redis Elastic search).

• Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Docker Kubernetes and modern deployment environments.

• Experience with message queues or streaming systems (Kafka RabbitMQ or SQS).

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to performance security and scalability.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React Angular or Vue) and REST integration.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure).

• Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK).

• Exposure to serverless or event-driven architecture.

• Comfortable working in Agile or Scrum environments.
