Your day to day as a Financial Services Supervisor

As the Financial Services Supervisor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our financial integrity through meticulous audits and analysis. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the cash receipting process-ensuring accurate reconciliation deposit preparation and payment entry. You will ensure that funds from various sources including State and Federal agencies localities and clients are precisely documented within our accounting systems. Your timely and thorough work will be essential for maintaining accounting controls ultimately ensuring our financial records statements and reports are free from material misstatements. Youll tackle complex financial transactions and conduct challenging audits requiring a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Additionally youre tasked with auditing the work of team members to ensure compliance with established controls and adherence to critical deadlines will be vital for producing agency financial statements and managing outstanding receivables effectively.

To thrive as the Financial Services Supervisor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board candidates must possess a robust set of skills and knowledge. A comprehensive understanding of auditing compliance and regulations as well as internal control procedures is crucial. requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration with one year of bookkeeping or accounting experience an Associates degree in these fields with two years of experience or three years of bookkeeping or accounting experience ideally including auditing experience with governmental agencies. Strong computer skills including proficiency with accounting software and prior auditing experience are essential.
