CT Technologist | 30 hours per week | Diagnostic Imaging

Job Details:

• Follow radiation safety measures to comply with government regulations while ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
• Operate computed tomography equipment and accessories to produce diagnostic images.
• Explain exam/procedure to patient to ensure cooperation safety and satisfaction.
• Accurate patient positioning to include required anatomy.
• Perform venipuncture following standard universal precautions.
• Administer iodinated contrast for diagnostic purposes.
• Obtain thorough and accurate patient history providing radiologist with pertinent information.
• Review and post-process CT images per the radiologists protocol and to ensure quality.
• Document charge and process all paperwork.

• Associates Degree (AA) Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Required
• 1-3 years Health care experience Preferred
• Review and post-process CT images per the radiologists protocol and to ensure quality.
• Observe and care for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Strong experience and understanding with reducing exposure to radiation.
• Take initiative to solve problems and look for ways to do things better.
• Prepares patient for radiological procedure by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions; positioning patient; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and the organization to suggest process improvements.
• Follow principles of radiation protection for patient self and others.
• Teaching others imaging protocols and other imaging tasks.
• Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights such as HIPAA
• Documents radiographic patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support & First Aid - American Heart Association Upon Hire
• Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire
• Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire
• Radiology Technician American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Upon Hire Required

IV competency required at WB campus.
CT Board Certification preferred.
Iowa Permit to Practice required.
May require weekend shifts and call rotation based on department need.
