Java API Developer

Our FSRM team is a fast-moving high-growth area with huge potential. It offers variety challenge responsibility and the opportunity to realize your leadership potential.

Our Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice focuses on risk management regulatory quantitative and technology backgrounds. The breadth of experiences of FSRM professionals enables the practice to coordinate the delivery of a broad array of risk management services to capital market participants throughout the world in a well-integrated manner.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Java API Engineer with strong expertise in Spring Boot to design build and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable secure and efficient solutions while ensuring best practices in coding testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Design develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Collaborate with frontend DevOps and product teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
Integrate APIs with databases third-party services and internal applications.
Write clean maintainable and well-tested code following industry standards.
Optimize application performance reliability and scalability.
Implement robust error handling logging and monitoring for APIs.
Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices (authentication authorization data protection).
Participate in code reviews design discussions and sprint ceremonies.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within SLAs.
Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies and frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher) with strong knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem.
Experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA).
Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).
Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2 JWT SSO).
Experience with build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment on cloud/on-prem platforms.
Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (JUnit Mockito) and API testing tools (Postman RestAssured).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with message brokers/streaming platforms (Kafka RabbitMQ).
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB Cassandra).
Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes).
Cloud platform experience (GCP AWS or Azure).
Knowledge of GraphQL APIs (advantageous).

Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ownership mindset with focus on quality and continuous improvement.
