Job Title: RN Oncology
Location: Hyannis MA
Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)
Shift: 12x3 Evening/Night
Pay Rate: $2673 Weekly Gross
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Oncology RN to provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. The RN will utilize nursing processes to assess plan implement and evaluate patient care ensuring adherence to safety regulatory standards and best practices. This role also involves mentoring staff participating in unit initiatives and supporting professional development within the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process maintaining accurate and current patient records.
Assess patients physical psychological and social status and develop individualized plans of care.
Communicate assessment findings and coordinate care with allied health professionals.
Serve as charge nurse or resource person offering guidance orientation and education to staff.
Utilize computerized nursing informatics systems for documentation and care planning.
Participate in unit staff meetings mandatory programs and Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) activities.
Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care using relevant indicators.
Adhere to safety protocols including blood/body fluid precautions and infection control policies.
Maintain ongoing professional development and stay updated on patient care techniques and regulations.
Represent the hospital professionally in all interactions maintaining patient confidentiality.
Demonstrate excellence in patient family visitor and coworker interactions.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Oncology or ER care.
At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred.
Current Massachusetts RN license.
Proficient in IV administration IV starts ventilator care and telemetry monitoring.
Successful completion of pharmacology and arrhythmia exams as required by facility.
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
De-escalation certification preferred.
