The University of Chicagos Department of Medicine Section of Cardiology seeks a Research Assistant Professor who will conduct academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointee will perform research broadly focused on developing and interrogating novel therapies for heart rhythm disorders. These experiments will include but not be limited to single nuclear sequencing of atrial tissue production management and assessment of omics signatures of canine atrial fibrillation models in response to targeted gene therapy and identification of new gene therapy targets. The appointee will also oversee the scientific output from the lab grow the labs research in new directions manage personnel assist with grant and manuscript submissions and establish collaborative efforts with other laboratories within University of Chicago and externally. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment applicants must: 1) hold a doctoral degree or its equivalent in genetics molecular biology or a related field of study and 2) have completed postdoctoral training.
