Neonatologist will provide comprehensive inpatient care for newborns in Level II and Level III NICUs within Solara Neonatals integrated perinatal network. As part of Arizonas only vertically integrated NeonatologyMFMOB partnership this role offers the opportunity to practice within a collaborative model designed to optimize perinatal outcomes reduce fragmentation and elevate the standard of newborn care. The ideal candidate is a board-certified or board-eligible Neonatologist with a passion for innovation evidence-based medicine and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

  • Provide high-quality evidence-based care to neonates in Level II and Level III NICUs across Solaras hospital network.
  • Perform initial assessments develop treatment plans and manage the ongoing care of premature and critically ill newborns.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with APPs nurses and consulting subspecialists to ensure comprehensive patient management.

Call Coverage:

  • Provide home call coverage with a 30-minute response time while supported by experienced in-house Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Ensure continuity and quality of care during call shifts across multiple practice sites.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) and Obstetric teams to coordinate seamless perinatal care from pregnancy through delivery and postnatal follow-up.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with families regarding diagnoses treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
  • Support a collegial and collaborative team culture that values stewardship curiosity and mutual growth.

Education and Mentorship:

  • Provide education and mentorship to APPs residents and nursing staff as part of a learning-oriented clinical environment.
  • Participate in simulation case reviews and quality-improvement education sessions.

Quality Improvement and Program Development:

  • Engage in departmental initiatives aimed at improving neonatal outcomes enhancing safety and refining operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines protocols and data-driven performance metrics.

Leadership and Growth Opportunities:

  • Pursue leadership roles in quality improvement education or program development for those interested in advancing within the organization.
  • Collaborate on projects that expand and shape the future of neonatal care within the Solara model.

Schedule and Work Environment:

  • Rotating 12 week blocks across multiple NICU sites offering both variety and continuity of care.
  • Predictable team-designed scheduling with approximately 178 days off per year (6 months).

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.
  • Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from an ACGME-accredited program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Current unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) to practice in the state of Arizona.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in neonatal intensive care and delivery room management.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based family-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
