Job Summary
Assess hemodynamics/cardiac calculations operate equipment document procedures site management patient/family education patient preparation sterile technique processing and saving images electrical mapping responsibility for preparation of the access site intraprocedural handling of instruments maintenance of sterile field evaluation of changing conditions during procedures. Responsible for maintaining basic knowledge of congenital vascular structural cardiac and electrophysiological procedures. Device pocket closure. Responsible for taking call to cover urgent/emergent procedures. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities department level education and adheres to unit based standard work.
Essential Functions
Prepares case tables with necessary equipment sterile supplies instruments labels and medications/solutions for each procedure and performs surgical sponge needle and instruments counts.
Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment and provides sterile instruments and supplies to assist in procedures.
Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team to ensure continuity and coordination of services
Monitor patients undergoing invasive and interventional procedures capturing and recording hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and performing calculations.
Depending on specialty must be able to utilize ICE 3D mapping and provide support for cardiac ablation laser lead extractions and implantable device procedures including pocket closures.
Circulates procedures as second circulator gathering equipment for the procedure obtaining and resulting ACT and oximetry.
Qualifications
Required Bachelors Degree or equivalent Cardiovascular Technologist Program Radiology Technologist Program or Bachelors in Health Science
2 years of relevant experience Clinical experience in electrophysiology or invasive cardiology procedures Preferred
CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist If hired into role after March 30 2018. 3 Yrs required Or
CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES) - CCINTL Cardiovascular Credentialing International If hired into role after March 30 2018. 3 Yrs required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
