The Community Impact Centre Site Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Community Impact Centre and providing leadership to the Community Support Worker team. This role plays a key part in shaping the culture and tone of the Centre guiding the team of staff and volunteers in supporting guests who participate in programs aimed at alleviating poverty and homelessness.
Reporting to the Community Impact Centre Manager this position works closely with other sites and departments to develop and deliver high-quality programs and services. The role involves crisis intervention and de-escalation as part of its core responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Community Impact Centre
- Work closely with the Manager of Community Impact Centres in developing Strathcona CIC procedure/ manuals goals reports and budgets
- Responsible for the supervision of staff including scheduling and performance management
- Provide leadership and direction to employees and volunteers
- Create an environment oriented to open communication creative thinking and cohesive team effort
- Motivate and inspire team members to assess situations and make appropriate decisions to support guests
- Ensure that all employees and volunteers have the appropriate training for the programs they are involved in
- Liaise with key departments (Housing Wellness Employment Volunteer Engagement etc.) to explore opportunities for new or expanded programming & services to further support guests.
Guests Engagement Support and Programming:
- Assess community needs develop and implement activities to respond to those needs aid in designing programming that empowers vulnerable individuals and builds self-sustainability
- Build and nurture relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- Support the dignity of our guests by seeking to identify their needs in a respectful manner
- Assist with the cleaning of the site to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests employees volunteers and visitors.
Administrative:
- Collect data and generate reports on statistics as required on the activities at the community
- Monitor budget costs related to programming and activities happening in the impact centre
- Develop Key Performance Indicators and assessment tools for various programs and ensure that these are recorded and met
- Develop and conduct evaluations to determine effectiveness of program activities
- Ensure all materials and equipment needed for programs are in good working order
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Abide by all Health and Safety protocols and procedures (ex. incident reports near misses) and mandatory training courses (NVCI SafeTalk First Aid).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- An undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent level of experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience leading community development initiatives
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with vulnerable groups such as individuals experiencing homelessness poverty mental illness addiction
- Knowledge within the field of community development and community resilience initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to engage communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of people from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Experienced with developing and encouraging staff to come up with creative solutions to complex challenges and problem
- Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently as required
- Effective meeting facilitation skills as well as multi-tasking and administrative skills
- Well-developed organizational time management oral written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated effective conflict management and networking skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid drivers Class 5 Drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle with a minimum of $liability insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS

- Minimal to moderate physical effort required; Lifting traveling sitting standing walking driving personal vehicle etc. required as part of this role
- This position is often fast-paced and requires moderate amount of mental effort to analyze information and problem solve
- Potential for exposure to vicarious trauma
- Employees are to be aware that many of our clients may experience difficulties or impairment at times which could result in them uttering threats discriminatory statements and other insults at your person. This may in a raised voice or in seeing unpredictable behaviour up to and including the possibility of them becoming aggressive.
- Training on how to respond is provided but this is to be considered typical working conditions. Many of our clients are unaware of the impact of these comments.
