Job Description:

A Brief Overview

The Guest Services Associate position is responsible to assist patients visitors employees and volunteers with information needed as they enter the hospital. This includes giving correct and clear directions escorting patients/visitors and looking up patient room numbers. This position also assists with switchboard duties by answering the phone and transferring caller to appropriate patient or department.

What you will do

  • Greet visitors and patients professionally both in person and on the phone quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues.
  • Provide clear concise directions to destinations or escort/safely transport by wheelchair as needed.
  • Comply with visitor/patient confidentiality requirements and organizational and departmental policies and procedures within the prescribed limits of the hospital.
  • Demonstrates commitment to patient safety and quality through maintenance of a safe environment providing assistance to visitors and customers throughout the facility and support of safe practices. Notifying the appropriate staff as necessary.
  • Delivers cards and flowers to the patient rooms or notifies the appropriate staff of deliveries.
  • Completes basic clerical duties such as stuffing envelopes folding and alphabetizing as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred
  • 1-3 years Ability to communicate and socially interact with a variety of personality types and age levels. Required
  • Resonsible positive service-oriented individual projecting professional behavior.
  • Ability to push patients/visitors in wheelchairs and escort throughout the hospital
  • Demonstrates good communication and listening skills.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Understands and follows directions.
  • Functions effectively on own or in conjunction with other Information Desk team members without the need for constant supervision.
  • May be required to pick up sort deliver and run mail through postage machine.
