Job Summary

Description

Chubb is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Data who will serve as a strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the companys data technology and infrastructure vision strategy and execution. This executive will oversee the development and implementation of advanced data-driven solutions ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering innovation to maintain the companys competitive edge in the insurance industry. The CTO will lead a team of data engineers and platform engineering professionals while collaborating with cross-functional leaders to leverage data as a strategic asset. Additionally the CTO will oversee the data infrastructure associated data security development methodologies and operational frameworks required to support scalable secure and efficient data and technology platform including the adoption of modern practices such as GenAI/LLMOps and DataOps.
The CTO Data will jointly report to the Global Data Officer and Global Technology Officer and will collaborate with their teams on data technology strategy roadmap and delivery priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
oDevelop and execute a comprehensive data technology and platform strategy aligned with the companys technology best practices and goals.
oDrive innovation in data technology capabilities to enhance platform resiliency security operational efficiency and customer experience.
oServe as a thought leader in emerging technologies including use of GenAI machine learning for improving efficiencies in support and development efforts.


and Scalability:
oDesign and implement a robust scalable and cloud-native data infrastructure to support the companys growing data needs.
oOversee the modernization of legacy systems to ensure seamless integration with advanced data platforms and tools.
oEnsure high availability performance and reliability of data systems to meet business demands.


and Compliance:
oDevelop and implement robust data security frameworks to protect sensitive customer and business data from cyber threats.
oEnsure compliance with data privacy regulations including GDPR CCPA and other relevant standards.
oCollaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to proactively address security risks and vulnerabilities in data systems.


and Data Integration:
oLead the adoption and operationalization of Dev/Sec/Ops capabilities in Data Platform and Technology.
oEstablish best practices to ensure the efficient deployment monitoring and maintenance of data engineering and platform features at scale.
oDrive data architecture modeling and integration of Global Data Platform capabilities across both analytical and operational use cases.

oImplement DataOps methodologies to streamline the development deployment and monitoring of data pipelines and data workflows.
oFoster collaboration between data engineering analytics and IT teams to ensure agility and efficiency in data operations.
oContinuously optimize data processes to reduce time-to-insight and improve operational efficiency.


Development and Collaboration:
oBuild and lead a high-performing team of data engineers and data architecture professionals.
oFoster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation experimentation and professional growth.
oPartner with senior executives across the organization to align data initiatives with business priorities.


Leadership:
oEvaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance data processing storage and analysis capabilities.
oPartner with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems with enterprise technology infrastructure.
oStay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the companys data technology capabilities.



Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Engineering or a related field; advanced degree (MBA MS or PhD) preferred.

Experience:
o15 years of experience in data and technology leadership roles preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
oProven track record of driving large-scale data transformation initiatives.
oExpertise in data architecture governance and advanced analytics methodologies.

Technical Skills:
oDeep knowledge of data platforms cloud technologies and analytics tools (e.g. Azure Hadoop Databricks Snowflake PowerBI and Python (also open to AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience). Nice to have: R.
oStrong understanding of AI machine learning LLMs and predictive modeling techniques.
oExperience with LLMOps DataOps and modern data engineering practices.

oStrong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

The pay range for the role is $285000 to $395000. The specific offer will depend on an applicants skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package more details on which can be found on our careers website.
