The Opportunity

Are you currently in public practice working with private company clients on tax planning and compliance Would you like to be a key player in the growth of a dynamic practice and advance your career at your own pace Do you have a keen desire to help your clients and co-workers grow and be successful Do you love finding solutions and process improvements

As a Senior Tax Associate at HLH LLP you will be an important part of our team and will be a key support to our clients partners and the entire HLH your role you will help us continually build our internal tax team with the support of our dedicated partners and professionals. You will be involved with all things tax whether it be working directly with our Senior Tax Manager and partners to address tax estate planning or succession concerns of our existing clients keeping the staff up to date on the latest taxation changes or helping us navigate potential compliance issues surrounding our clients tax filings. At the same time you will be given the opportunity to build your own skill set knowledge and business network within our supportive dynamic environment.

The Candidate

As the ideal candidate you will have already finished your CPA designation and be seeking a career specializing in helping clients navigate the ever-changing Canadian taxation landscape. Youll have a passion for helping our team proactively solve problems and researching potential alternatives to our clients tax challenges all with the support and guidance of the partners and our Tax Team. You will have had exposure to privately held companies and the tax issues they face and want to broaden your skill set and formal education in a dynamic and supportive environment.

You will have experience with advanced tax planning areas such as reorganizations estate planning creditor proofing and tax research. You will have experience in working directly with clients and delivering quality comprehensive and understandable results for them and their companies. You will bring 5 or more years of public practice experience combined with completion of or enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course.
