Join the ABCs Regional WA team in Albany where youll play a key role in creating engaging content for local statewide and national audiences. As a Senior Program Producer youll lead in-studio production contribute to planning and commissioning coverage of latest news and develop original stories that reflect the diversity of Western Australias communities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative newsroom environment producing high-quality audio and cross-platform content that resonates with audiences across the country.
- Create engaging content primarily for a daily radio program plus for multiple platforms including digital and social media.
- Lead in-studio radio production managing talkback callers and guest interviews.
- Be across news stories and think of creative ways to cover on radio to promote engagement.
- Develop fresh content ideas that drive audience engagement.
- Develop complex local stories that can be shared across ABC teams and platforms.
- Work with program team to develop original outside broadcasts.
- Support the Local Emergency Coverage plan and liaise with stakeholders as needed.
- Source and produce stories that reflect the cultural geographic and socio-economic diversity of WA and Australia.
- Build strong relationships with communities across regional WA to uncover relevant and compelling stories aligned with ABCs audience.
Youre a skilled and passionate content maker with a strong editorial sense and a deep understanding of your audience.
- A background in journalism media or content production supported by relevant experience.
- Proven experience creating compelling audio and cross-platform content that connects with audiences.
- Experience on-air presenting a radio or audio program.
- Strong editorial judgement and the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly and accurately.
- A solid understanding of the topics and issues that resonate with regional audiences.
- A genuine passion for telling stories that reflect the diversity of Australias communities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from all walks of life.
- A current and valid Drivers Licence is required.
