OurEnergy & Utilitiesbusiness is seeking a Telecommunications Service Technician to join our great Telco team based in Nelson. Reporting to the Field Manager your key responsibilities will include:

Install configure and maintain fibre optic copper and wireless telecommunications network equipment and cabling
Diagnose locate and repair network faults efficiently to minimise service disruption
Use specialised testing equipment (e.g. OTDR Light Source/Power Meter VFL) to test network performance and integrity
Perform routine network inspections and preventative maintenance

Nga pūkenga matua Important Skills

Proven hands-on experience as a Telecommunications Technician or a similar field role (minimum 3 years)
NZQA Level 3 Telecommunications Certificate or equivalent preferred
Current Class 1 Drivers Licence
Practical knowledge of fibre splicing termination and testing
Familiarity with working in a safety-critical environment and a strong commitment to safe work practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
Effective communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
