Who are we looking for GHD islooking for a Graduate Engineer - Highways Roads & Bridges to support our Transportation Team. We are looking for hardworking engineers who will share our vision and can help us to deliver it. Were thousands of brilliantly interesting and diverse people with a unique set of accessible skills. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to evaluate select and apply standard planning techniques procedures and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment under supervision. The position requires developing written content and reports for multiple audiences in support of projects. The ideal candidate will have an academic and/or professional background in transportation planning. Our planners work hand in hand with our engineers landscape architects and digital analysts to develop plans that are implementable and meet our clients needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the transportation planning and design field and a belief that sustainability and multimodal safety are integral to our transportation system.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Engineering Inspections: Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
  • Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading specialist media.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related filed

Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Experience conducting community engagement activities
  • Proficiency in GIS application towards transportation planning field
  • Proficiency in transportation analysis or simulation software (Synchro/SimTraffic Vissim Vistro HCS Sidra)
  • Proficiency in travel demand modeling software (TransCAD Cube Visum) is a plus
