About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker working in Supported Independent Living (SIL) you will be supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster with sleepover availability required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with high behaviours and behaviours of concern ensuring a safe and respectful approach
- Provide support with daily personal care routines such as bathing shaving and toileting
- Willing to work flexible sleepover shifts adapting to varying schedules and client needs while maintaining a high standard of care
- Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keeping
- Foster positive relationships with clients families and fellow team members
- Advocate for client choice and independence while ensuring safety
Skills & Experience
- Hold an unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Experience with personal care medication assistance and supporting clients in mental health and behavioural settings will be highly regarded
- A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated competency in basic technology usage on mobile and desktop platforms
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
