Augustine Angels LLC a woman-owned small business providing specialized healthcare and educational support services to federal and tribal schools nationwide is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist to serve students at San Ildefonso Day School located in San Ildefonso Pueblo New Mexico.
This role supports the Bureau of Indian Educations mission to ensure that Native students receive high-quality culturally responsive special education and related services in their local school setting.
Youll provide direct and consultative school-based physical therapy for students with motor functional or mobility challenges collaborating with teachers parents and interdisciplinary IEP teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and small-group physical therapy services as outlined in students IEPs.
- Assess document and report on students physical and functional abilities using standardized tools.
- Develop and implement therapy treatment plans to improve motor skills posture balance and mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to adapt classroom activities and environments.
- Participate in IEP meetings progress reviews and team consultations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation per BIE and IDEA standards.
- Provide training and recommendations to teachers aides and families for carryover activities.
- Comply with all background check requirements under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
- Follow all safety confidentiality and professional conduct policies of the school and contracting agency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Masters in Physical Therapy.
- Active New Mexico Physical Therapy License (required before start date).
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric or school-based experience.
- Strong communication documentation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
Preferred:
- Experience working with Native or Tribal communities.
- Knowledge of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) compliance requirements.
- Prior experience in federal or public school environments.
Compensation and Schedule
- Hourly Rate
- Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week / 37 school weeks per year (185 hours annually).
