The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Experienced or Senior Equipment and Tool Engineer (Level 2 3 or 4) to support the manufacturing and assembly of the Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage (CS) and Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans Louisiana on 2nd shift.
A successful candidate in this role will have passion creativity and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory interacting with mechanics and directly supporting the production Production Engineering working as a Tooling Engineer we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety quality and integrity.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.
Ensures compliance with safety producibility maintainability reliability ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
Validates contractual performance milestones maintains configuration control conducts reviews prepares plans for productions readiness preventative maintenance and spares.
Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware software and documentation.
Supports studies for disposition of assets.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2 years of related work experience in Production Engineering
1 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
1 years of experience reading and comprehending engineering tooling drawings
1 years of experience with 3D modeling analysis and simulation of production systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Masters Degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field
Familiar with CATIA and CREO
Familiar with product configuration management
Familiar following the procedures of a production quality management systems
Familiar with receiving requirements and writing outsource specifications leveraging industry standards and best practices
Familiar developing mitigations and work-around plans in a manufacturing setting
