Sheet Metal Fabricator
Location: Reading
Salary: 32000 - 34000 Overtime Bonus
Hours: Monday Friday (7:30am to 3:30 pm)
Benefits: 28 days annual leave Pension bonus parking
Syntech are representing one of the UKs most respected SMEs in their next phase of growth. We require a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator someone with experience in Tube Bending is required on a full-time basis to join the team at their Reading factory.
Sheet Metal Fabricator Responsibilities:
- Operating semi-CNC and manual tube-bending machines to bend titanium stainless steel and aluminium pipes for precision assemblies.
- Working to tight tolerances using jigs CMMs and measurement tools to ensure all bends meet spec.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and instructions to set up bending sequences and prepare tube stock.
- Prepping and assembling bent tubing in welding jigs ready for TIG welding.
- Managing the tube-bending bay including tooling stock and area cleanliness this is your zone.
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers to offer manufacturability feedback and support continuous improvement.
- Occasionally supporting other areas of the workshop to meet key project deadlines.
Sheet Metal Fabricator Experience:
- Proven experience in an engineering workshop environment particularly in roles requiring precision assembly and attention to detail.
- The ability to read interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Basic computer literacy with a willingness to learn industry-specific software (full training provided).
- A hands-on problem-solving mindset youll need to think on your feet to overcome challenges and ensure deadlines are met.
- Tube-bending experience is a strong advantage but not essential well train the right person with the right attitude.
- An interest or background in motorsport or high-performance engineering would be a bonus.
