Duties & Responsibilities:
IEP Development and Documentation
- Write IEP Present Levels of Performance based on detailed teacher reports
- Develop precise measurable IEP goals aligned with student assessments and strengths
- Ensure all documentation is clear objective and student-centered
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with school staff to gather and interpret assessment data
- Support and coach a small group of school-based or supplemental staff in IEP processes
- Contribute to cross-team communication to maintain consistent student support
Quality and Compliance
- Maintain technical knowledge of the SESIS IEP system to ensure accurate records
- Uphold high standards for written descriptions of student progress and next steps
- Manage routine IEP tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred ideally in Special Education or related field
- 3 to 4 years of professional experience directly relevant to special education such as Special Education Teacher or Coordinator
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce objective measurable IEP goals and reports
- Experience with IEP systems and student data interpretation is highly valued
- Ability to work independently with minimal physical demands (primarily desk work)
- Warm clear communication style with a focus on student-centered planning

Compensation
The full compensation range for this role is $48.46/hr - $56.20/hr if the candidate is based out of NYC/Newark. Typically new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $48.46/hr. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed. Please note this position is remote and the compensation will likely be geo-differentiated depending on where the candidate lives.
Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally because we value internal growth and tenure current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.
