SUMMARY The Program Assessment Specialist is responsible for conducting child care center family child care and school-age program quality assessments for BrightStars and the RI PreK Program using standardized tools and other data collection instruments and completing detailed written reports of these assessments. The Program Assessment Specialist is also responsible for ongoing communication with programs to support appropriate completion of applications for a BrightStars rating as well as providing professional development and outreach to the child care community to broaden early childhood educators understanding of quality rating process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrograms & Services:Work with programs to submit complete and accurate application and related materials. Review and code documentation submitted by detailed written reports of assessment and update BrightStars program on-site assessments of child care and early learning programs (centers preschool classrooms in public schools private and/or religious schools family child care and school-age programs).Receive training and administer standardized program assessment tools (Environment Rating Scales and others).Maintain reliability on tools and processes. Support other staff in maintaining and deliver professional development on topics including the BrightStars assessment process and the Environment Rating Scales.
