Job Summary
The mission of the MGBs Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is to increase the quantity quality and efficiency of clinical research at MGB. The MGB OCR nurtures and empowers the next generation of clinical research investigators and study staff by providing educational courses guidance and resources to the MGB clinical research community. Faculty-led consultation services and the project management support service core advise and provide logistical support to clinical research teams.Qualifications
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Phlebotomy Educator will be responsible for teaching and training students in the skills knowledge and professional standards required for safe and effective phlebotomy practice for research. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures laboratory demonstrations and hands-on training.
Deliver engaging lectures and demonstrate safe phlebotomy techniques for research.
Instruct students in venipuncture specimen collection infection control and laboratory safety protocols in accordance with institutional policies and guidelines.
Supervise and evaluate students practical skills in simulated settings.
Promote professionalism ethical practice and patient-centered care in all aspects of instruction.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
Required:
Have successfully performed blood draws in the past 30 days
Preferred:
1-2 years of prior teaching training or mentoring experience
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
Strong knowledge of and demonstrated skill in phlebotomy techniques infection control and laboratory and clinical safety.
Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
