The team

The Business Manager role reports directly to the Global Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and plays a key part in supporting the core Management Team. Projects vary but always align with our five pillars: creating value safeguarding the supply chain operating with excellence putting sustainability at the heart and building a world-class team.

Role and responsibilities

As Senior Business Manager for the Global CPO you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives across the procurement function. You will support the CPO in driving operational excellence enhancing governance and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Acting as a key liaison between senior stakeholders and procurement teams you will ensure alignment with corporate objectives and contribute to the maturity of procurement processes and decision-making forums.

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategy and internal business processes to ensure effective and efficient operations.

  • Deliver budget plans and financial performance reviews in collaboration with senior colleagues ensuring financial rigour and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Oversee operational areas and project delivery applying structured methodologies to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Support the evolution of procurement governance including increasing maturity and harmonising ways of working.

  • Draft and tailor communications on behalf of the CPO for diverse audiences ensuring clarity and strategic alignment.

  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders (MBB and MBB-1) and their support teams ensuring strategic alignment and collaborative execution.

  • Act as a linking pin between procurement and other business units fostering transparency and shared objectives.

  • Assist in the planning and oversight of strategic projects for the CPO identifying and ensuring mitigation of risks issues and dependencies.

  • Contribute to organisational structure design and role definition to support functional and corporate principles.

  • Partner with Group CPO and senior leadership for strategic decisions.

Strategic Challenges

The procurement function is undergoing a transformation from a business partner-oriented model to a category-focused approach. This shift aims to unlock procurement benefits such as demand aggregation process harmonisation and supplier experience optimisation. The Senior Business Manager will be instrumental in driving this change ensuring strategic alignment across teams increasing governance maturity and preparing the organisation for future leadership transitions.

Work Experience

  • 36 years of experience in business management or similar domain ideally within an international financial services organisation.

  • Proven track record of supporting CxO-level executives particularly in Procurement Technology or Information domains.

Competencies

  • Mastery of English business communication both spoken and written.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to align multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills to communicate effectively and support strategic decision-making.

  • Sound financial acumen and understanding of procurement processes.
