MRI Technologist (Tech) Assistant St. Marys Hospital

Job Summary:

The MRI Tech Assistant is responsible for guiding patients through the procedure from check-in through exam completion maintaining a timely workflow. This includes greeting patients gathering their clinical history escorting them to the changing and exam rooms and transporting patients to and from the MRI department.

Essential Functions:

• Confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data.
• Demonstrates phone etiquette communicating with patients families and other staff verifying scripts and patient schedules.
• Cleans and preps the exam rooms and maintains controlled access to the magnet room.
• Assists Technologists with screening patients and alerts the Tech of any patient safety concerns.
• Available to help Technologists with patient positioning and MRI equipment.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)

Licensure/Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (preferred upon hire required prior to direct patient care)

Experience:

• 1 year experience in a health care setting (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
• Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)
