Description

Position Summary:

The Facilities Technician at Vertiv is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility by performing routine maintenance equipment repairs and building upkeep. This hands-on role ensures that all systems machinery and infrastructure are operating safely efficiently and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections preventive maintenance and basic repairs on HVAC plumbing lighting and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to facility-related work orders troubleshooting issues and resolving them effectively to reduce downtime.
  • Assist in equipment installations moves and general facility modifications.
  • Monitor and maintain building infrastructure including restrooms breakrooms common areas and office space to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Work closely with contractors and vendors during repairs or project work; escort and monitor as needed for safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for equipment and work performed.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment and tools meet safety standards.
  • Assist with snow removal landscaping and basic groundskeeping duties as needed (site-dependent).
  • Maintain inventory of tools parts and supplies and notify leadership when reorder is needed.
  • Follow all Vertiv safety policies and procedures promoting a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 25 years of experience in facilities maintenance building services or general maintenance work.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and equipment documentation.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance software or CMMS (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing walking bending and use of ladders or lifts.
  • Occasional kneeling crawling or working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments sometimes in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g. HVAC Electrical Industrial Maintenance).
  • Experience in a manufacturing warehouse or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with building codes OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
