Job Summary
Summary:
A local manufacturing facility specializing in the production of precision fasteners for aircraft systems pressure vessels and medical devices is seeking a General Manager to oversee day-to-day shop operations. This role is responsible for job quoting production sourcing and personnel management to ensure efficient and effective business processes throughout the company.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee all day-to-day operations within the manufacturing facility to ensure production efficiency quality and safety.
* Develop implement and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines.
* Prepare and review job quotations including cost estimation materials sourcing and labor requirements.
* Manage supplier relationships and coordinate the sourcing of materials and production services.
* Lead mentor and support shop personnel to maintain a motivated and productive workforce.
* Monitor production metrics and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste.
* Ensure compliance with company policies quality standards and applicable industry regulations (AS9100 ISO etc.).
* Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production or tooling issues efficiently.
* Maintain accurate records of production costs and performance for management reporting.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
* Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure reliable operation and workplace safety.
* Support strategic planning and budgeting to align shop performance with company growth goals.
Requirements:
* 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations preferably in precision machining or aerospace/medical device industries.
* Proven leadership experience managing production teams and coordinating cross-functional departments.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining tooling and quality assurance practices.
* Experience preparing quotes estimating costs and managing budgets for manufacturing projects.
* Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
